Confessions of a Futon-Revolutionist

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move." - Douglas Adams

Fair Warning: I really only talk about football (Arsenal and SJ Earthquakes), hockey (Sharks), baseball (Giants), and pop culture (Mainly british TV shows and such). All the time. Just, you know, warning you. To be fair. Because I spam hockey and Arsenal FC almost daily.

Before this know something: I finally did scorpion at Yoga on Tuesday. It hurt, but it was worth it. I’ve never been more proud of myself.

Now:

1. I have bad knees from over 10 years of playing soccer and basketball YEAR ROUND. When I wasn’t a center in Basketball, I was a forward/goalie in Soccer. Vice versa. Not the smartest choice, probably should have stuck with one since both are running based and strain on my knees. But I continued on with two sports at once. Well…until I hurt my knees and was unable to continue to play both, so I dropped soccer for basketball then dropped basketball that next year.

2. If you’ve never seen/don’t know what scorpion is, here:

Yeah, tha’ shit cray.

3. I felt it get hurt. I know it strained slightly, because I felt it do so as soon as I re-extended my legs to come out of scorpion. Now? It’s been hurting for two days. But, again I am not always the smartest here, I still went to kickboxing and for a run yesterday and today. Whoops. And yoga, but I did modified poses and skipped out on the really vigorous stuff so I wouldn’t hurt it again/more if something is hurt.

I’m pretty sure I strained the hamstring or adductor muscles in my right leg. I can’t extend it too much and walking is painful right now. I don’t know if it’s a mild level 1 that will heal with icing and elevation or a level 3 that could require a brace and all, but I do know it hurts and it’s not fun that’s for sure. And it sets me back in working out as much as I like to.
